$20

In one of my favorite movies, there is a scene in which a youth pastor sits in front of his youth group and asks each one what they would do for $20. He names off a few crazy things and makes the kids laugh, and then he says "But what would you do for a penny? Would you still do those crazy things? The crazy thing is, we treat people the very same way. Like some are worth our time and others we just pass right over like they're worthless."

I hope you took a minute to think about that. Take another one.

I started trying to adopt this mindset, and it has revolutionized the way I treat people. It took some conditioning, but now I try to think of everyone I meet as equally valuable. Because really, our perception of people isn't crap. It's God's that matters. So maybe if I see with His eyes, I'll stop favoring people who are attractive, socially graceful, funny, etc. and just value every person. Even if I don't particularly like them, it doesn't make them worth less.

Even if I don't particularly like them, it doesn't make them worth less.

So stop treating people like pennies. Treat them like $20.

I know that's still putting a price on a life but come on just roll with me, you get the point!
Seriously, the way I think of people has drastically changed. And it's wonderful! Thank God for His grace on judgmental people and His love for all His children.

Until next time!
